The First Graduates of Our Faculty's Social Work Department Took Their First Step into the Profession with the Oath-Taking Ceremony


The Oath-Taking Ceremony for the first graduates of the Social Work Department of our Faculty for the 2024–2025 Academic Year was proudly held on June 24, 2025. The ceremony was attended by our University’s Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Selçuk GÜMÜŞ, Dean of our Faculty Prof. Dr. Sevim ÇELİK, Bartın Provincial Director of Family and Social Services Mr. Yavuz KORKMAZ, Board Member of Bartın Private AKTIP Hospital Mr. Refik AKMAZ, academic and administrative staff of our Faculty, graduating students, and their families.

The ceremony commenced with a moment of silence and the National Anthem. It continued with opening speeches delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan ACAR, Vice Chair of the Social Work Department, and Prof. Dr. Sevim ÇELİK, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences.

During the ceremony, plaques and certificates of achievement were presented to our top-ranking students: to the first-place graduate, Şeyma Nur KAYIRAN, by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Selçuk GÜMÜŞ; to the second-place graduate, Derya DOĞAN, by Dean Prof. Dr. Sevim ÇELİK; and to the third-place graduate, Emine KAHYA, by Vice Dean Dr. Elif İŞLEK. All graduating students were presented with certificates of congratulations by protocol members and faculty staff.

Accompanied by Acting Head of the Social Work Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özge ÖZGÜR, the graduates recited the Social Worker’s Oath, formally entering the profession. The ceremony concluded with congratulations extended to the graduates and a group photo session..
