The PhD thesis project led by Özge UÇAR, Research Assistant at the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Bartın University, was found worthy of support by TÜSEB. The effectiveness of topical hemoglobin, which has recently been evaluated for its effectiveness in different chronic wounds, will be investigated for the first time, both in Turkey and in the world. The research, which will be a first in Turkey, was conducted by Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department lecturer Prof. Dr. It will be held under the consultancy of Arzu İLÇE. In the project, one of the doctors of Bartın State Hospital, Intensive Care Specialist Uzm. Dr. Mustafa CANBAZ will also take part.
Providing information about the project, Uçar said, “With the supported project, the use of topical hemoglobin as an innovative method in the treatment and care of pressure sores, which is accepted as a quality indicator in health care today, will be investigated for the first time. The study is planned to be carried out with intensive care patients treated in a state hospital in the Western Black Sea Region. With this method, it is expected that pressure sores, which are a common health problem in patients with movement limitation and circulation problems, will heal quickly and effectively. The research will be of great benefit to nurses who play a primary role in wound care and to patients who often have pressure injury problems. The project will have an important place in the literature since it will be applied for the first time in pressure injuries and is a first in our country.
