Opening Meeting for the 2024-2025 Academic Year Fall Semester Held with Faculty Student Representatives
The 2024-2025 Academic Year Fall Semester Opening Meeting was held on October 10, 2024, by our faculty, with the participation of class representatives from the Social Work, Nursing, and Midwifery Departments and our Faculty Student Representative. The meeting, chaired by our Dean, Prof. Dr. Sevim ÇELİK, also included the participation of vice deans, the faculty secretary, and department heads. Dean ÇELİK provided information on improvements in our faculty and campus, covering topics such as laboratory infrastructure, the cafeteria, library, dining hall, sports facilities, and cleaning services. Highlighting the ongoing improvement efforts in areas like infrastructure and environmental planning, Dean ÇELİK emphasized the importance of students' awareness in areas like environmental cleanliness, efficient resource use, and zero waste.
During the meeting, a discussion was held on the reasons for declines in Course Satisfaction Surveys for the 2023-2024 Academic Year, along with proposed solutions. Addressing communication issues, carefully reading and responding to surveys, and providing feedback on teaching methods were emphasized for the quality and improvement processes. Additionally, ideas were exchanged on increasing motivation for participation in social activities at our university and using social areas on campus. The importance of organizing meetings and events to introduce first-year students to upperclassmen and to foster integration among all students was highlighted. Also mentioned were plans to produce videos promoting our faculty’s departments and to encourage participation in competitions and project applications on behalf of our faculty.
